Important
Filling out the form usually takes 15–20 minutes. Make sure you have a stable internet connection and all necessary information ready before you begin. After 1 hour of inactivity, your session will expire and unsaved data may be lost.

Filling Out the Form

Choosing the Right Form:

  • On the start page, select which tax form you want to complete.
  • For most creators, the correct choice is the W-8BEN form.
  • To select it, confirm that you are an individual and that you are not a U.S. resident or Green Card holder.

(Note: Any fields you fill in manually must be written in Latin characters.)

Note for U.S. citizens or residents:

  • This guide is intended for non-U.S. individuals.
  • If you are a U.S. citizen or U.S. tax resident, please contact us directly, and we will assist you with the correct tax form.

Section 1: Personal Information

  • Enter your first and last name (in Latin characters).
  • Specify your country of citizenship.
  • Provide your Individual Tax Number (Registration Number of the Taxpayer’s Account Card).
  • Leave the fields for Business Name and ITIN or SSN blank.

Section 2: Address

  • Enter your permanent residence address (in Latin characters).
  • If you live at the same address, check the box that says “mailing address is the same as permanent residence”.
  • If you use a P.O. box, make sure to indicate that as well.

Section 3: Tax treaty

The system will automatically suggest tax options based on the tax treaty between your country and the United States (if such a treaty exists). You can check whether your country has a tax treaty with the United States by visiting the official IRS website at the link below: U.S. Tax Treaties – IRS.gov.

Select the recommended articles and paragraphs, as well as the lowest available withholding rate for each category.

Section 4: Activities and services performed in US

  • Indicate whether you have provided services to Google within the United States.
  • If you have not worked as a Google employee, select “No” and check the box to certify the information provided.

Section 5: Tax reporting

  • Choose your preferred method for receiving tax documents: physical mail or email.

Section 6: Document preview

  • Once you’ve completed the form, double-check that all the information is accurate.
  • If everything is correct, check the box that says “I confirm that...” and click “Next”.

Section 7: Certify and sign
Tax form certification:

If you were previously overcharged on taxes and hadn’t submitted the W-8BEN form, you can indicate this in the “Affidavit of Unchanged Tax Status” section. This allows the platform to refund the excess tax withheld.

To complete this section. Unchanged status affidavit:

  • Tick the checkbox to confirm your status hasn’t changed.
  • In the “Year” field, enter the earliest year from which your tax status has remained the same. (Example: 2020, if you’ve been a tax resident of your country since January 1, 2020.)
  • Leave the “Description and date for each change to tax form” field blank unless something changed (e.g., country of residence, tax treaty eligibility).
  • If changes occurred, briefly describe them with exact dates. (Example: “Moved tax residence from Germany to Spain on March 1, 2025.”)

Note: A refund may apply where this tax form results in a lower withholding rate than applied to your prior payment(s). Refunds are limited to withholding from the current calendar year only.

Your signature

  • Sign the document to confirm the accuracy of the information provided. If you are the account owner, your details will be automatically filled in for the signature.
  • Please note that the signature must be entered using Latin characters.

Additional Documents:

The system may request photos of supporting documents (such as a biometric or international passport, or proof of permanent residence).

If this is required, you won’t be able to submit the form without uploading the necessary photos.

Completion:

  • After confirming your information, the form will be submitted for review.
  • Within 3–7 days, the team will review your submission, and the status will be updated to “approved.”
